Join us for a live radio broadcast from the Public Retreat exhibition "On Fire"!
Gather around the digital fire, tune in to the conversations, and become part of this speculative sonic journey. The theme of the program is fire – both as a powerful natural element and as a metaphor for the burning questions that shape our cities' futures.
Public Retreat will lead us through this afternoon mixing field recordings, monologues, guided imaginations, meditative soundscapes and more. Together, we will listen and speculate on the voices of humans, non-humans, and more-than-humans that form the urban soundscape. Geologist Dr. Dave Budd joins us for a talk centered around volcanoes, earth, lava, contaminated soil and remediation.
As part of the 2024 Architecture Triennale at Färgfabriken in Stockholm, Public Retreat is an interdisciplinary project that immerses participants in our shared auditory city environment.
Public Retreat is broadcasting live at RadiOrakel -the world oldest feminist radio, where they are in radio residency, currently broadcasting weekly programs centered around the city, sounds and urban space.
Wednesdays 17-18, reruns Mondays 10-11.
